Lodging Fees - A nominal fee per individual per night is payable to the Big Thicket Association, a non-profit tax exempt organization. The fee covers housekeeping expenses and supplies.
The Big Thicket National Preserve's Field Research Station provides students and researchers a facility to support research and field studies in the Preserve and surrounding region. The Station also welcomes environmental education programs.
The facility includes a small laboratory, library, classroom, kitchen, dining area, dormitory and showers. Washer and dryer are available for laundry. Audiovisual equipment is available, including a monitor, VCR and slide projector, and computer and overhead projectors.
The Field Research Station (FRS) is located in the historic town of Saratoga, Texas on a six-acre campus within minutes of the 25,000 acre Lance Rosier Unit of the Big Thicket National Preserve (BITH).
